Dear Praying Friends,

November/December 2026

Furlough: The Lord has given us a very full furlough so far. We have been in 13 churches, including 4 Missions Conferences, and have traveled more than 4,000 miles. We are thankful for each church that has welcomed our family and warmly hosted us. Please continue to pray for safety as we travel and that the Lord would use each meeting to encourage churches in the area of missions.

Container: We are very excited about a shipment that will soon be arriving in Tanzania. The container includes nearly 300,000 Swahili John and Romans, 50,000 Swahili John and Romans with a special cover for our radio ministry, 15,000 English John and Romans, and 1,008 complete English Bibles. Please pray as the container arrives and goes through the clearing process. Pray that everything will go smoothly and that there will be no unnecessary delays. We are looking forward to getting these Scriptures into the hands of people who need them.

African Salvations: We have enjoyed the opportunity to go out on visitation with churches around the country while on furlough. One of the highlights always is coming in contact with Africans, especially Swahili-speaking Africans. One example happened while we were shopping in a store in Iowa. I suddenly heard a group of people speaking Swahili, immediately whipped around, and headed toward the four Africans who were standing there. They happened to be discussing the surprisingly large amount of honey in a jar, apparently getting an introduction to American portion sizes! I walked over and greeted them in Swahili, and they were shocked to meet a white man in the middle of Iowa who could speak their language. This opened the door for me to share the Gospel with them, and all four bowed their heads right there in the store and trusted Christ as their Saviour. I am sure we looked a little unusual as we all bowed our heads together, oblivious to everything else going on around us. What a reminder it was that the mission field is wherever God places us.

The Timothy Project: We are excited to share about a new project the Lord has been working on my heart about for some time now. We are calling it “The Timothy Project.” This will be for young men who believe God has called them to preach and start churches. When we return to Tanzania, we plan to begin construction on simple dormitories where these young men can live while they are being trained and gaining practical ministry experience.

We praise the Lord that the funds needed for the first stage of this project have already been given. Please pray for wisdom as we begin construction and as we invest in the young men God brings our way.

James and Stevanie Helterbran: We are so excited for James and Stevanie Helterbran to join our ministry in Tanzania. They began deputation this past August and are traveling to present the work God has called them to. Their goal is to arrive in Tanzania in January of 2028. Please pray that the Lord would open doors, provide the support they need, and allow them to finish deputation quickly. We are looking forward to serving alongside them at Faith Baptist Church Morogoro.

Serving the people of Tanzania,
